SEEDS Summer Field Camps
SEEDS camps for summer 2026 are full. Please check back in January or February 2027 for information about summer.
Full day 9am-4pm, co-ed for ages 8 – 10 and 10 - 14 year olds. Typical group size: 8-9 children, two teachers, plus one teen assistant. SEEDS engages kids in hands-on, play and place-based nature education. During summer camps, every week kids explore the wonders of our local natural world. Our field camps take kids on daily field trips with fun-filled science exploration, farm visits, respectful catch, observation, and release, with art projects, experiments, music, and play to interpret what we've been learning about. 2027 SEEDS Summer Field Camps, our 32nd year. Full day, 9am-4pm, Monday - Friday SEEDS Field Camp, ages 8-10: DATES TBA IN EARLY 2027 Full day, 9am-4pm, Monday - Friday SEEDS Field Camp, ages 10-14: DATES TBA IN EARLY 2027 REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 26th 2027: The link to the form below will be active then. Field Camp registration forms due by: 5pm Friday, April 2nd. Placement lottery and notification: Completed by April 16th. Tuition is $XXX.00 per week. Financial assistance is available. Please email for information discover@seedskids.org SEEDS Field Camp pick-up and drop-off is at SEEDS-Blacksburg Nature Center, 303 Wilson Ave., Blacksburg. DO NOT MAIL OR DROP OFF ANY REGISTRATION TO THAT LOCATION as we will NOT get it until after camp registration closes. HOW TO REGISTER Please read through the following information and then complete a registration form (see below) by typing your information, then print, sign and return. People with handwritten forms that can’t be read are not as likely to get a spot. Return the registration form with a check for ½ half tuition in person to SEEDS; or Mailto: SEEDS, PO Box 824, Blacksburg, VA 24063. Please don’t mail to Wilson Ave. We do not get mail delivered there. REGISTRATION LOTTERY For the best chance at a spot in a camp, return your registration form and tuition by the deadline. Within one week after the deadline you will receive confirmation that we received your registration. Selection: Registrations will be selected from all those received by the deadline. You will be notified by email within a week of lottery results. Any remaining spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not deposit checks unless your child gets into camp. Waiting list: If you do not get a spot, we notify you by email and file the application with our waiting list. If you still don’t get a spot in camp during summer we destroy the check and file the application for the following year. If you don’t get one of the spots in a SEEDS camp program, there are many other excellent programs offered by other organizations in the area.
